The tradition of The Sweetheart Week is a special and exciting one for the Greek Community at the University of Minnesota. The week of November 1 through November 5 marked Alpha Delta Phi’s Sweetheart Week. Six women from different sororities spent time with the men of Alpha Delta Phi getting to know them and participating in events that were held at the chapter house each night of the week. The events included interviewing the candidates, a cook-off, a skit night, and helping the brothers with their annual philanthropy event “The Chilitacular,” to help raise money for Toys for Tots, an organization that provides Christmas gifts for underprivileged families. Friday, November 6, the brothers voted and crowned Karly Kubes of Alpha Chi Omega as this year’s Lady Phi and Whitney Clapper of Alpha Omicron Pi as the Lily of the Valley. The brothers are looking forward to continuing to spend time with these wonderful women and getting to know them even better throughout the year. The Sweetheart Week is a great way to get to know other members of the Greek Community and create lasting friendships.
